DERALIYE

About

Deraliye is a Turkish restaurant shaped through warmth, material depth, and a refined sense of atmosphere. The design builds its identity through a rich tonal palette, where earthy plaster, dark timber, deep red accents, warm metal, and veined stone come together with a quiet intensity.

Rather than relying on decorative references, the interior uses materiality, lighting, and proportion to create character. Arched forms, softly textured walls, framed compositions, and intimate seating arrangements give the restaurant a layered quality, while the lighting keeps the space warm, low, and closely connected to the rituals of dining.

The project unfolds through a sequence of atmospheric moments. The exterior creates a strong first impression from the street, the bar is anchored by a sculptural marble counter, and the dining area develops a softer rhythm through warm surfaces, framed imagery, and carefully placed light.

The bar area is anchored by the marble counter, which becomes the strongest material gesture in the room. Its expressive veining brings movement, texture, and weight to the space, giving the bar a distinct presence without the need for excess detail.

Behind it, warm illuminated shelving adds depth and softness, displaying bottles and glassware within a darker architectural frame. Earth-toned plaster, curved openings, timber accents, and low lighting create a cohesive atmosphere around the bar, allowing the marble to remain the central piece.

The open kitchen sits alongside the bar sequence, adding movement and a working rhythm to the space. Together, the bar and kitchen create a sense of activity, warmth, and craft at the heart of the restaurant.

The exterior introduces Deraliye with a strong and recognisable street presence. A deep red awning sits against the brick facade, creating an immediate sense of warmth and identity from the street.

Dark-framed glazing and red architectural detailing draw the eye inward, offering glimpses of the interior atmosphere beyond. The facade feels intimate, composed, and quietly confident, setting the tone for the richer material language inside.
