About

Pepos reinterprets the spirit of an Italian restaurant through a rich, atmospheric interior shaped by colour, craft, and memory. The design brings together classical architectural references with a more expressive material palette, creating a space that feels warm, social, and full of character.

Deep blue joinery, arched forms, burnt orange tones, warm metals, textured surfaces, and layered lighting establish a strong visual rhythm throughout the restaurant. The interior is not overly polished or minimal. It is designed to feel generous, animated, and lived in, with each area contributing to the experience of gathering, dining, and conversation.

The exterior introduces Pepos with a strong and recognisable street presence. A burnt orange awning sits against the deep blue frontage, creating a rich contrast that feels warm, confident, and immediately identifiable from the street.

The bar area is designed as one of the main focal points of the restaurant. Deep blue architectural framing, arched shelving, mirrored surfaces, and warm integrated lighting create depth, rhythm, and a sense of theatre.

The wood-fired oven brings a more tactile and sensory layer to the space. Positioned within the open kitchen and bar sequence, it introduces fire, movement, and the visible craft of preparation into the dining experience.

The fluted bar front adds texture, while the illuminated counter softens the darker palette. Brass accents, glass shelving, and layered lighting give the bar a refined yet animated atmosphere.

The dining area is shaped around comfort, conversation, and visual warmth. Curved seating, upholstered chairs, pendant lighting, and closely arranged tables create an intimate rhythm throughout the room.

Framed archival imagery and old Italian photographs bring memory and character into the space, adding a sense of place without becoming overly thematic. Arched openings and classical details give the room structure, while deep tones, warm textures, and soft lighting create a dining atmosphere that feels layered, expressive, and inviting.
